Chapter 4 Exploratory Data Analysis and Visualisation

In this chapter we cover the all-important topic of exploratory data analysis which is near universally referred to as EDA. It’s an important component of data quality checking which is major topic for Chapter 5 but also in a practical sense, it helps us get a ‘feel’ for the data and will start to inspire questions for our data analysis. This is an iterative process.
